James Simmons

The creative director of SPS and GroveWars. Prior to being a professional artist, James proudly served the United States military for several years as a field medic. After getting out of the military and formal art school for Game Art & Design, he worked on projects that were geared towards helping our veterans with PTSD. After that time, he got picked up to work on console video games. For his art experience, he has been making art professionally for over 17 years. Most recently with Warner Bros. Entertainment as a Senior Artist and Zynga. In the video game industry, he worked on original and licensed AAA titles, some of them being on the top seller charts in the world. He has also has several years of experience producing rapid prototypes for tech toy companies as well as helping in designing brands for billion-dollar companies. Some of his personal sci-fi works have been premiered in worldwide public publications such as EXPOSÉ and have been nominated for awards. He was a finalist in the worldwide Star Wars ILM Art Department Challenge with one of his pieces being an ILM favorite. He draws inspiration from pop culture, the 80's, 90’s, arcade games, and sci-fi movies.
